The answers !

What is the minimum age for attending the festival?

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older). There’s no nursery at GMM and there are no concession rate tickets for children. Children pay the same ticket price as adults.

Can I bring my children to the festival?

While we do not recommend bringing your children to the festival we cannot deny them access to the festival grounds. Everyone within the festival enclosure must be in possession of a valid ticket and this also goes for young children. This rule is meant to discourage parents from bringing infants to the festival since their safety cannot be guaranteed e.g. in case of a crowd surge. By purchasing a ticket for their child, the parents are accepting full responsibility for the safety of their child.

Do children get free access to the festival?

Everyone within the festival enclosure must be in possession of a valid ticket. This rule applies to everyone and there are no concession rate tickets available.

Where can I pick up my children after the festival?

We strongly advise everyone to come to the festival by public transport. All roads are blocked so the festival site is inaccessible by car. Parents can pick up their children on Dessel market square.

My tickets have been ordered and paid for but they haven’t been shipped yet. What should I do?

Contact Tele Ticket Service since they are in charge of ticketing for Graspop Metal Meeting. You can reach them at 070-345 345 (Belgium) or 0900-45 000 45 (the Netherlands). Callers from other countries can join Tele Ticket Service at +32 34 0000 34. Their customer service is available every weekday from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 6 pm. What should I do if my festival or e-festival ticket gets lost?

Contact Tele Ticket Service since they are in charge of ticketing for Graspop Metal Meeting. You can reach them at 070-345 345 (Belgium) or 0900-45 000 45 (the Netherlands). What if my ticket is registered in someone else’s name (e.g. if I am not the person who actually purchased the tickets)?

Tickets are usually registered in the name of the person who orders them. Therefore, if you are in possession of tickets ordered by someone else, it is best to bring a copy of that person’s ID card as well as a hand-written letter of authority to avoid problems in case of an ID check.
Please note that e-train tickets are personal. You should only order your e-train ticket if you are sure of the passenger’s name.

Can I buy tickets from the on-site box office?

Tickets are still available from the festival and campsite box offices (while stocks last).
During the festival only tickets for that particular day are on sale.

Do Friday ticket holders have access to the festival grounds on Thursday?

Day tickets are only valid on the given day, viz. Friday, Saturday or Sunday. This means Friday ticket holders only have access to the festival grounds on Friday. There are no Thursday tickets on sale.

I bought a day ticket and would like to know when I have access to the campsite.

A day ticket does not include campsite access. Day ticket holders who wish to spend the night at the campsite must first buy a one-day camping ticket first (15 euros). One-day camping tickets are not sold in advance and can only be obtained from the campsite box office on the day! Your camping day ticket is valid on the same day as your festival ticket, viz. from 8 am till noon the following day.

Where do I collect my Graspop tokens?

Customers who purchase their tokens in advance will receive a voucher that can be used to collect the actual tokens at the festival site. A separate box office at the main festival entrance is reserved for this purpose. Only voucher holders can collect their tokens there. Guests who did not buy their tokens in advance can obtain GMM tokens from the box office in the arena itself or from the token machines scattered across the festival site.

I want to take advantage of the free public transport on offer. Do I need to download an e-train ticket?

Your festival ticket includes the train journey (one outward journey and one return journey between MOL station and any other Belgian railway station). However, there is an important difference between an e-ticket and a classic ticket.

  • Buying an e-festival ticket online means you still have to download a separate e-train ticket if you’re travelling by train. To download your e-train ticket you need the SNCB code on your e-festival ticket (beginning with the number 0, the letter I and the number 50). Remember that e-train tickets are personal. You should only order your e-train ticket if you are sure of the passenger’s name.

  • With a classic festival ticket (with hologram) there is no need to download a separate train ticket. The classic ticket in itself is also a valid train ticket. The validity is printed on the front of your festival ticket.

I want to download my e-train ticket but my SNCB code is not valid.

Are you sure you entered the correct code? The SNCB code is printed on your e-festival ticket and starts with the number 0, the letter I and the number 50. This code can be used just once.
Please contact the SNCB in case of problems.

Can I take public transport back home after the festival?

There are no night trains after the festival but the shuttle bus service continues until the last train pulls out of Mol station (around 22:30).

Do the carers accompanying disabled visitors get a discount?

The same rule applies to everyone: all visitors within the festival enclosure must be in possession of a valid ticket and there are no concession rate tickets available.

Can I rent or buy a tent on-site?

Tents are neither for rent nor for sale at the campsite so please bring your own.

If my friends have already pitched camp when I arrive and the campsite is full, can I still spend the night there?

If your friends arrive early you can obviously erect your own tent next to theirs. However, no more tents can be added once the “full” notice is posted.

Is there a mains power supply available at the campsite?

No, there isn’t.

Are motorhomes allowed on the campsite?

Motorhomes and caravans are not welcome on the campsite. Fans with a motorhome or caravan can stay in Graspop Metal Town or on one of the private campsites in the vicinity.

Where do I find potable water on the festival grounds?

Bottled water is available from every drink stall. Also, the water from the wash basins in the festival arena is potable and obviously free of charge.

Can I recharge my mobile phone on the festival grounds?

On the festival grounds you will find phone charging stations with most current adapter types, courtesy of mobile phone operator Proximus.

Can I make a cash withdrawal on the festival grounds?

KBC bank has erected a mobile branch in the Metal Plaza. All bank and credit cards are accepted both at the counter and the cash point outside. Still, we should point out that all token vending machines, box offices and merchandising stands accept both cash payments and payments by bank or credit card (Mastercard/VISA). This also goes for the festival fair and the metal market, so we urge all our guests to pay electronically whenever possible.

What bands will be playing at Graspop and why are there no announcements on the website yet?

It’s really no use mailing us questions about the lineup. As soon as a band is confirmed the news is posted on the website. If you’re on the mailing list you will be notified automatically.

I'm in a band. Do I stand a chance of playing at Graspop Metal Meeting?

We keep a list of all applications. Seventy-odd bands will be performing at our three-day festival. We always start off by booking the top bands and we then fill in the gaps with bands that are lower down on our list. Any band that sounds interesting and that fits the profile has a shot so please send your details to : GMM Office – Zandbergen 102 - 2480 Dessel – Belgium.

Can I bring my camera?

Professional equipment is not permitted. Interchangeable lens cameras are not allowed and neither are film cameras and recording equipment, but you can bring an ordinary digital camera.

Can I have my own stall at the festival?

Contact Orange Artist Promotion (info@festivalfair.eu) if you want to set up your own stall in the metal market.

What about lost property?

Direct your enquiries to the info stand during the festival. All items are taken to the local police station after the festival.
