Hard Rock

United States

Aerosmith was founded in 1970 when vocalist Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry teamed up to form a blues-inspired hard rock band. The addition of pop rock and heavy metal influences laid the foundations of a unique style that was embraced by millions of fans across the globe. Each of the first five albums including the sublime ‘Toys in the Attic’ (1975) achieved multi-platinum status and decades later, hit singles like ‘Dream On’ and ‘Walk This Way’ still rank among the fan favourites. Following a quieter period Aerosmith hit back with a vengeance in the 80s with ‘Permanent Vacation’ (1987), the start of another highly successful run including the albums ‘Pump’ (1989), ‘Get a Grip’ (1993) and ‘Nine Lives’ (1997). A slew of hits such as ‘Dude (Looks Like a Lady)’, ‘Rag Doll’, ‘Love in an Elevator’, ‘Janie's Got a Gun’, ‘Livin'spotify:track:24NwBd5vZ2CK8VOQVnqdxr on the Edge’, ‘Cryin'’, ‘Crazy’ and ‘I Don't Want to Miss a Thing’ have long since elevated Aerosmith to superstardom, a label that still holds true even after 50 years in the music industry.
