Corrosion of Conformity, also known as C.O.C., are your typical musical chameleons. Their early 80s debut ‘Eye for an Eye’ featured 20 hardcore and punk-oriented tracks but over the years they’ve gravitated towards a more bluesy heavy metal sound. Despite varying line-ups and changing music styles, C.O.C. were able to build a loyal following through the years. Apart from touring in support of major acts including Megadeth and Metallica, C.O.C.’s own headlining tours have taken them to some of the world’s most famous stages. The band’s history is eventful to say the least, including two hiatuses and several members departing and then rejoining the band at a later date. While they achieved commercial success with ‘Deliverance’ (1994), follow-up ‘Wiseblood’ (1996) marked a time of declining fortunes but the release of the critically acclaimed ‘In the Arms of God’ (2005) restored the band to its former glory. Pepper Keenan then focused on Down but took up lead vocals and rhythm guitar duties again in 2014. C.O.C.’s new album ‘No Cross No Crown’ is set to drop on 12 January 2018. (#GMM18)
