Draconian

Over the years there has been no shortage of gothic/doom bands with a female lead singer but few have had the stamina needed to become a long-time fixture. Draconian are an exception to that rule because the Swedes have been at it for nearly thirty years and are still one of the leading bands of the subgenre. Somehow they know how to keep their songs more interesting than most of the competition and their vocal beauty-versus-the-beast tactics - the combination of a refined female voice and ferocious grunts – are spot-on. Their latest outing ‘Under a Godless Veil’ garnered very positive reviews and post-Covid they finally have the chance to play it live. #GMM23
