Dropkick Murphys

Dropkick Murphys
Played at Graspop Metal Meeting
2001 / 2016

United States

The guys in Dropkick Murphys are always in for a party. For thirty years now, they’ve been blending Irish folk, rock and punk into a catchy and unique cocktail. Lyrically, this American band is known for its tongue-in-cheek comments on topics we can all relate to such as friendship, whisky, beer, lost love and politics. Outspoken democrats, they have also founded or aligned themselves with charitable causes throughout their career. The use of traditional instruments such as bagpipes, the mandolin, the tin whistle, the piano and the accordion gives Dropkick Murphys more options and freedom of movement than traditional punk bands. The result are seriously infectious tunes that get even the biggest couch potato moving because standing on the sidelines is not an option at a Dropkick Murphys show.
