Biography

With over 80 million albums sold worldwide, Foreigner is easily one of the most successful hard rock acts of all time. Nowadays Mick Jones is the only remaining member of the line-up that forced a worldwide breakthrough with their maiden album ‘Foreigner’ (1977), including the world hit ‘Cold as Ice’ .Their sophomore effort ‘Double Vision’ (1978) went on to outsell their debut thanks to hits as ‘Hot Blooded’, ‘Blue Morning, Blue Day’ and the title track. By now they were firmly established as arena headliners and throughout the 80s Foreigner easily cemented that status with a string of hits showcasing their unique hook-laden AOR style: ‘Waiting for a Girl Like You’, ‘Juke Box Hero’, ‘Urgent’ and their biggest hit, ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ to name just a few. Over the years they’ve remained a force to be reckoned with and their memorable performance at GMM2016 proved once again that their classic hits have stood the test of time. More than forty years on, songs like ‘That Was Yesterday’ and ‘Say You Will’ are as spine-chilling as ever. (#GMM20)
