The female form has inspired musicians for ages and that also goes for the British rock band Massive Wagons. They needed a name for their first concert and settled on the nickname of a local barmaid. Actually, it’s quite fitting because Massive Wagons’ output is perfectly suited as ‘bar music’ – and we mean this in the nicest way possible. They write incendiary tracks and if you listen long enough, all you need to do is close your eyes and you’re transported to an episode of Sons of Anarchy. Massive Wagons offer the perfect soundtrack for an adventurous road trip. They formed in 2009 and while ‘Fire It up’ (2012) didn’t bring anything new to the table, the utter conviction of the delivery hooks you in. 2016’s Welcome to the World is the album that turned a wider audience on to Massive Wagons: a versatile album with mosh-worthy tracks and AOR-oriented songs, as well as blues and prog influences. Fans of AC/DC and Black Stone Cherry will love Massive Wagons. House of Noise (2021), the successor to the UK Top 20 hit ‘Full Nelson’, delivers all the riffs and hooks you’d expect from an unadulterated rock ‘n’ roll record. Knock back a few and rock out to Massive Wagons! (#GMM22)
