Death Metal

United Kingdom

In September of 2015, British death metal legends Bolt Thrower suffered a fatal setback with the untimely demise of drummer Martin Kearns. End of story for Bolt Thrower but now vocalist Karl Willets is back with a new death metal project. Former Bolt Thrower stickman Andrew Whale, bassist Frank Healy and guitarist Scott Fairfax (both Benediction) were also invited to the party and together they formed a death metal supergroup, Memoriam. Initially the foursome met up to play covers of death metal tunes that had influenced their careers but before long they started writing original material. The band’s fledgling release is due in 2017 and death metal fans will be probably be drooling in anticipation right now. (#GMM17)
