Biography

Crossover thrash fans will be happy as clams that M.O.D. are making their GMM debut this year. M.O.D. aka Method of Destruction is the brainchild of singer Billy Milano, who is also the founder of hardcore punk band S.O.D. (Stormtroopers of Death). For 33 years M.O.D. have been pummelling their listeners with a neckwrecking mix of hardcore punk and thrash metal, spiced up with politically incorrect and humorous lyrics. Their 1987 debut ‘U.S.A. for M.O.D.’ was produced by band member and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. While their second outing, the ‘Surfin’ M.O.D.’ EP, was a more frivolous affair mainly consisting of covers, 1989’s ‘Gross Misconduct’ picked up where their debut left off. M.O.D. split in 1997 with Milano deciding to turn his focus back to S.O.D. MO.D. was revived four years later and their most recent record ‘Busted Broke & American’ was their first studio effort in a decade. Milano’s well-documented right-wing sympathies continue to spark controversy whereas the tracks themselves never fail to spark moshing mayhem. Not for the faint of heart! (#GMM20)
