Nightglow [Manowar Tribute]

Nightglow [Manowar Tribute]
Played at Graspop Metal Meeting

With Nightglow Graspop is pleased to welcome another Italian heavy metal act. Formed in 2003, it took until 2013 for Nightglow to release a full-length CD. This is probably due to the fact that they started a second life as a Manowar tribute band in 2006. As a matter of fact, they did this so well that the official American Manowar fan club recognised them as the only European Manowar tribute band worthy of the name. In 2013 they released their full-length debut with ‘We Rise’. As can be expected of Manowar fans, the tracks are a throwback to typical 80s metal: not overly long, verse-chorus-verse-chorus, an excellent singer with a big reach, powerful riffs. The twin guitar attack is prominent on follow-up ‘Orpheus’ (2014), which even includes the obligatory ballad (‘Stay with Me’). Priest, Maiden and Manowar fans will love Nightglow. If you like traditional heavy metal, Nightglow is just what the doctor ordered. (Text: Niels Desmedt / Translation: Nick De Vos)
