Black Metal

Black metal is often viewed as a Scandinavian invention but there’s this little Greek band that might have something to say about that. Rotting Christ formed a quarter century ago and played a pioneering role in the development of the black metal scene in Mediterranean Europe. Although Rotting Christ’s music has evolved over the years, the basic dark, black and gothic metal ingredients have always been present. The band around the Tollis brothers has reinvented itself in recent years: just listen to the excellent album ‘Kata Ton Daimona Eautou’. Their latest masterpiece ‘Rituals’ strikes off in search of dark rituals and cults around the globe with tracks that take the listener to ancient Greece, India, Palestine, etc. Look out for a churning mix of old and new material at GMM2017!
