Suicide Silence are regarded as the founders of deathcore, a mix of death metal and hardcore. They hit the ground running: they left their calling card at GMM2011 and the Californians were cruising along comfortably until disaster struck on 1 November 2012 when singer Mitch Lucker was killed in a motorcycle accident. Fast forward to 2014… Following Lucker’s demise, their future hung in the balance but 2014 wait was a year of resurrection for Suicide Silence, including a second memorable performance at Graspop and the release of ‘You Can’t Stop Me’ less than a month later, the first album to feature new vocalist Eddie Hermida (ex-All Shall Perish). They’re planning a self-titled album for 2017 so keep an ear out for new tracks. (#GMM17)
