Death Metal

Following the release of the acclaimed EP ‘Infinite Death’ (2008) and their full-length debut ‘The Adversary’ (2010), Aussie deathcore heroes TAIM quickly gained recognition as one of the leading bands on the deathcore scene. On their sophomore album ‘Hate’ they vented their dissatisfaction with many of the political, social and environmental ills of modern society; ‘Holy War’ (2015) touches on themes ranging from child abuse to war and their aversion to organised religion. Generally considered a deathcore band, their love of extreme metal in general is especially obvious on ‘Holy War’, most notably with several Behemoth-inspired passages. CJ McMahon quit the band in 2015 but returned to the fold two years later, in time for the ‘Dear Desolation’ album that has a more pronounced lean towards traditional death metal. The result was hailed as their best work to date. As far as their live reputation goes, their shows are notoriously ferocious so get in the pit or get out of the way. (#GMM20)
