If you’re going to have a few after the last band has left the stage but you’d still like to catch a few hours of comfortable sleep, then Metal Town is definitely the ticket! You can either spend the night in a festihut or you can book a pitch for your motorhome, caravan or tent. Metal Town is located at just 1km from the festival arena and is easy to reach by festival shuttle.
If you’re not spending the night in Metal Town you’re more than welcome to pitch your tent at the festival campsite situated next to the Metal Plaza. The price for your festival ticket includes campsite access so there’s no extra charge. Here all info on the campsite.
Arrival and departure:
Metal Town opens its doors at 2pm on Thursday June 18th so please don’t get there on Wednesday. Camping outside Metal Town until opening time will not be tolerated!
Access does require a voucher that’s included in the confirmation mail you will receive for your reservation. Access to the festival arena and campsite is not included! New arrivals are required to check in at the reception desk where you will be handed your village access pass. At the reception desk you can also collect your festihut key and breakfast vouchers and the staff will happily answer your enquiries.
Toilets and showers
Metal Town is equipped with a sanitary cluster including hot showers and flush toilets. The number of toilets is being increased this year to keep the morning queues down to a minimum. There’s also an accessible toilet and shower for wheelchair users.
Breakfast, snacks and bar
The breakfast tent offers a breakfast buffet between 8am and noon. Cold beverages are available at the bar (open between 8 am and 2 am). There's also a food stall with French fries, pasta and pizza on the menu. The only accepted currency are the Graspop tokens dispensed by the vending machines in Metal Town and on the festival grounds. Remark: Graspop token vouchers bought in advance must be exchanged at the main box office of the festival.
A festihut is a cozy wooden cottage equipped with beds or bunk beds and mattresses. They also have a lockable door and a window. You can always leave your key at the reception desk for a carefree festival day.
!! Only vehicles officially registered as motorhomes or (folding) caravans are allowed. Converted vehicles and estate cars are not allowed. Security personnel are authorised to deny access to any vehicle that does not answer to the above description. Oversized campervans will be refused and will be referred to one of the private campsites in the area. Camping in the car parks will not be tolerated.
