The impressive return of the Belgian Metal Icons Channel Zero surprise act of GMM 2011
In 2010 Channel Zero, the best metal band that Belgium has ever known and having sold over 100.000 albums in the past, came back with a bang!
Selling out 6 times the Ancienne Belgique resulting in over 12.000 people experiencing the band’s comeback. 20 years after their break and with 5 albums to choose from, singer Franky DSVD, drumming force Phil B, bassist Tino De Martino and now joied by impressive international Mikey Doling (ex-Soulfly and founding member of SNOT) on guitar, Channel Zero shook the AB, Graspop and Rock Werchter to its foundations.
The band has now finished their brand new album ‘Feed ‘Em With a Brick, produced by Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy et Devil Driver). And this album really is a kick in the teeth. It’s brutal, vicious and full of power. Feed ‘Em doesn’t ignore the metal past but its sounds, song topics and the sheer energy oozing from every song is more then ever 2011. It’s the only album Channel Zero should have made since their 1997 break. It is Channel Zero 2011.
‘Feed ‘M With A Brick’ entered the Belgium album charts at number 2 in its first week of sales.
And now Channel Zero has just been confirmed as the surprise act of GMM 2011. Due to the cancellation of Ozzy Osbourne the band has been asked to perform Saturday at the festival. And only fitting they should be at the best metal festival and having just released the new album.
