Biography

Emerging from underneath the fumes of Rotterdam’s vast industrial harbour comes DOOL. Dutch for ‘wandering’, Dool list The Sisters of Mercy and Sonic Youth as their main influences and take their audience on an otherworldly journey through dark melancholic songs, allowing only the faintest glimmer of hope and light to penetrate the listeners’ minds. Born from the ashes of Dutch rock bands Elle Bandita and The Devil’s Blood in late 2015, Dool quickly gained a following with the release and the accompanying video of their debut single ‘Oweynagat’, resulting in both a highlighted showcase at Roadburn Festival 2016 and a record deal with German label Prophecy Productions. Their acclaimed debut album ‘Here Now, There Then’ hit the shelves in February 2017, followed by two successful European tours and a slew of festival shows in the same year. In September 2017 they received the Metal Hammer Award for ‘Best Debut Album’ (#GMM18)
