Biography
Former Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (’73-’76) is regarded by many as the ‘Voice of Rock’. The current frontman of super group Black Country Communion dips into the treasure trove of the past: under the moniker ‘Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live’ he revisits material from his Deep Purple days, known to the fans as Mk III and Mk IV. Hughes, who also fronted funk rock band Trapeze back in the day, recorded three studio albums with Deep Purple, not only taking over bass duties from Roger Glover but also sharing vocalist credits with David Coverdale on ‘Burn’ (1974), ‘Stormbringer’ (1975) and ‘Come Taste the Band’ (1976).
