With every new album, the Swedes from Graveyard use their unique mix of classic heavy rock, blues and a pinch of psychedelia to explore the boundaries of their musical creativity. The band formed in 2006 when four Swedish blues rock musicians grew dissatisfied with the musical direction their respective bands had taken. Over the years their energetic and emotionally charged music with a touch of jazz attracted a loyal following. Their songs sound like a metal mix of Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin. The year after ‘Innocence & Decadence’ (2015) dropped, they decided to call it quits, citing “classic differences”. Just one year later they reformed with a new drummer behind the kit. After their short hiatus they put out two more albums. Their sixth and most recent effort is aptly titled ‘6’. Greeted with rave reviews, this enthralling exploration of psychedelic contrasts is their darkest but somehow most accessible record to date. (#GMM24)
