Biography

No big hair or designer dresses but torn jeans for the quartet in LA grunge/rock band L7. Originally formed by Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, they released their self-titled debut in 1988 but it wasn’t until 1992 when ‘Bricks Are Heavy’ dropped that they become truly successful. Music magazine Rolling Stone even included the album in its essential recordings list of the 1990s. Single ‘Pretend We’re Dead’ stormed charts worldwide, catapulting them into headlining status and landing them support slots for the likes of Faith No More. L7 folded in 2001 but returned to the live circuit in 2014. Last September they released a new single for the first time in ages: ‘Dispatch from Mar-a-Lago’ leaves no doubt as to how they feel about their current president. Time to welcome back a band that made Metal Injection’s list of all time heaviest grunge bands! (#GMM18)
