Londoners Savage Messiah financed their debut EP ‘Spitting Venom’ (2007) to positive reviews and before long they were noticed by established record labels. Two years later they embarked on a lengthy support tour to promote their first full-length, ‘Insurrection Rising’. While the tracks on the album exhibited all the hallmark features you’d expect, the overall sound was modern and forward-looking in the style of Testament and Megadeth releases of the period. Savage Messiah raised their game on follow-up ‘The Fateful Dark’ (2014) and their popularity surged as a result. Not only did the new disc earn them headliner status, it also landed them several nominations and awards. Unfortunately disagreements forced singer/guitarist and band leader Dave Silver to make a few personnel changes but they managed to maintain the momentum with 2017’s ‘Hands of Fate’. In a slight departure from their Bay Area thrash style debut, ‘Hands of Fate’ presents a mixture of uncompromising heaviness with the rousing singalong choruses so typical of power metal. A highly anticipated GMM debut! (#GMM18)
