Biography
The Curse of Millhaven sounds like a vintage 1960s horror flick starring Vincent Price but you’re more likely to find them on Spotify than on Netflix. Established in 2012 in Ypres, Belgium, their name was taken from the eponymous Nick Cave track. Two years later they unleashed their first long player with’Vestibule of Hell’, a concept record about Dante’s nine layers of hell, each with its own specific form of wickedness. The spine-snapping blast beats and razor-sharp riffs on ‘Vestibule of Hell’ are typical for their output and appeal to both death metal fans and metalcore enthusiasts. With an appearance at Antwerp Metal Fest and a slot in the finals of the Wacken Open Air contest under their belt they are no stranger to festivals. Be sure to check out their 'Thresholds' (2019), their latest album to date. (#GMM22)
