Your Highness

Your Highness
Played at Graspop Metal Meeting
2015 / 2016

In a Graspop first, Franky De Smet Van Damme, frontman of Belgian metal flagbearers Channel Zero, will be hosting three promising Belgian bands in the Metal Dome. Under the moniker 'Franky DSVD presents', Knives to a Gunfight, Your Highness and BARK will get the chance of a lifetime to impress the Graspop crowd on Thursday evening 16th June in the Metal Dome.

In recent years, Belgium has earned a reputation as a fertile breeding ground for talented sludge/stoner metal bands. Antwerp-based Your Highness is next in a long line of promising newcomers in the genre. Early 2015 the quintet switched into high gear with the release of ‘City in Ruins’. Their second full-length effort is a strong statement and the follow-up to their 2011 debut ‘Cults ‘n’ Cunts’. Last year, Your Highness came out on top in a Pukkelpop poll in a Belgian newspaper but it’s GMM that experienced the full force of the live cyclone known as Your Highness when they tore up the Jupiler Stage on Thursday. They’ve kept pretty busy over the last twelve months as well. Apart from generating rave live reviews everywhere they went, they also did a stint as resident artists in Trix, Antwerp, where they recorded ‘The Quietus’, a so-called ‘1 song 1 side’ LP  set for a May 2016 release.
