Set It Off have spent the past decade blurring the lines between pop punk, alt-rock and a slick, electronics-infused take on modern heavy music. What started in Florida as a band with a strong online following quickly turned into something much bigger, carried by an instinct for hooks and a flair for drama. If you’re new to them, ‘Cinematics’ (2012) is a solid entry point, packed with theatrical energy and big choruses, while ‘Midnight’ (2019) leans harder into darker pop territory without losing that punch. More recent material pushes even further into genre-hopping but always with the same sense of control. They’re not a metal band in the strict sense but that hardly matters once they hit the stage. Set It Off thrive on crowd interaction: big singalongs, constant movement and the kind of momentum that pulls you in whether you planned on watching them or not. (#GMM26)
