After four albums, the members of Steak Number Eight felt it was time for a fresh start. Belgium's most renowned sludge/post-metal band had sold out the country's biggest venues, performed at top European festivals, and shared stages with Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Deftones, Prong, and Alice Cooper. In 2018, they announced a name change and released a three-song EP, hinting at the arrival of their new identity's debut album, ‘Critical Method’. Starting anew has undoubtedly sparked new creativity and inspiration, resulting in shorter, more straightforward tracks with a nostalgic 90s vibe. In 2022, the band released ‘Love, Death and Decay’ and this year they celebrate their 20th anniversary! (#GMM24)
