Terrorizer has had an eventful existence: formed in 1985 by singer Oscar Garcia and the late Jesse Pintado on guitar, they were joined soon after by stick legend Pete Sandoval. They disbanded in ’88 when Sandoval took up drum duties for Morbid Angel, only to be revived by David Vincent to record their landmark album ‘World Downfall’. Hailed as one of the cornerstones of deathgrind, it is regarded as one of the most important extreme metal albums ever made. Still, due to conflicting schedules, Terrorizer’s history has been a merry-go-round of splits and reformations, with a total of four albums released during the band’s short periods of activity. With everyone also involved in other projects, it was simply too hard to keep a band going whose members lived far apart. The most recent revival came about in 2023: at the start of the year they broke up, only to reform months later in today’s line-up of Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel, I Am Morbid, Terrorizer), David Vincent (Morbid Angel, I Am Morbid, Terrorizer, Vltimas), vocalist Brian Werner (ex-Vital Remains) and guitarist Richie Brown (I Am Morbid, Terrorizer, Mindscar).
