Vower

Brighton-based Vower is a relatively new but already intriguing force in the heavier underground, bringing together musicians with roots in post-metal, hardcore and experimental sludge. Rather than sticking to one clear blueprint, they move between atmospheric passages and sudden bursts of intensity that create a larger-than-life atmosphere. Their early material favoured dynamic storytelling over heaviness for heavy’s sake and made a real impact on the underground scene. On stage, Vower tends to stretch its compositions, building tension slowly before releasing it in dense, cathartic waves that appeal to both post-metal and hardcore audiences. Last year they were nominated for the Heavy Music Awards in the category ‘UK Breakthrough Artist’ and this year they’re making their GMM debut in the Metal Dome.
