Faetooth

Faetooth operate in the murkier end of doom metal, where crushing low-end riffs meet an atmosphere steeped in myth, grief and quiet menace. Hailing from Los Angeles, the trio have coined the term fairy doom, a fitting description for music that balances weight and melody with an almost folkloric sense of unease. Their 2022 debut album ‘Remnants of the Vessel’ immediately set them apart, a slow burner pairing heaviness with haunting vocal harmonies and lyrics that explore loss, transformation and the darker corners of the human psyche. Rather than relying purely on volume, Faetooth let tension and texture do much of the work, gradually drawing listeners in before pulling the rug out from under them. Faetooth are a precious find for doom fans that look beyond the obvious names. Their latest record Labyrinthine (2025) further expands their vision, wandering deeper into winding song structures and shifting moods, drawing influences from progressive, post-metal and even gothic soundscapes, while keeping their signature oppressive core intact.
