Hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as the best metal band of their generation, Mastodon deliver an intelligent mix of rock, metal, thrash, punk and psychedelia. Formed in 2000 by Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (guitar/backing vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals), the original line-up remained intact until Brent Hinds’ surprise departure in March of last year. Their debut album ‘Remission’ (2002) made a serious impact thanks to its unique sound and inventive approach. Built around the story of Moby Dick, the concept album ‘Leviathan’ (2004) forced a global breakthrough and music magazines Revolver, Kerrang! and Terrorizer named it their album of the year. Since then they’ve graced the world’s biggest stages. In anticipation of a new album they dropped a split album with Lamb of God in 2024 and toured the globe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark ‘Leviathan’ album. Fans will also enjoy the deluxe edition of their 2009 album ‘Crack the Skye’. In August of 2025, Hinds was killed in a traffic accident, shocking fans around the world.
