Few metalcore bands have worn their hearts on their sleeves quite like We Came As Romans. Emerging from Michigan in the late 2000s, they built their reputation on a blend of melodic metalcore, electronics and big, emotional choruses. ‘To Plant a Seed’ (2009) remains a fan favourite, but it was ‘Tracing Back Roots’ (2013) that pushed them firmly into the spotlight. Their lyrics revolve around resilience, unity and personal struggle, themes that took on a deeper meaning following the tragic passing of vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018. Rather than retreat, the band channelled that loss into ‘Darkbloom’ (2022), a record that balances grief with defiance. Expect a set that moves between crushing breakdowns and hands-in-the-air moments, with a crowd that knows every word. Their latest outing ‘All Is Beautiful… Because We’re Doomed’ (2025) is an introspective record where every track administers a fresh shot of adrenaline. Expect hordes of fans who know every word for this one! (#GMM26)
