The hallowed grounds of Graspop Metal Meeting are situated on the Stenehei in Dessel (Belgium). The best way to get there is by bicycle or public transport. As of Thursday 21 June the area surrounding the festival site will be closed to all motorised traffic. Only pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles with a special permit will be allowed to pass.
Going by train to the festival? Good thinking! NMBS/SNCB provides additional capacity and a real Party Train. The nearest station is Mol. From there, our free shuttle bus will take you to the festival site. Attention: your festivalticket is not valid as a train ticket.
Only € 10 for a return journey
Go to sncb.be/graspop and buy your GMM train ticket for only € 10. This ticket is only available online as from 30/05/2018 and is valid for 1 outward journey and 1 homeward journey in 2nd class between any Belgian departure station and the station of MOL. If you're departing from Brussels Airport - Zaventem station, the Diabolo fee for the outward and the homeward journey will automatically be added.
You can choose the date of the outward journey and the date of the homeward journey in the period of Thursday 21st until Monday 25th of June 2018 included. With the handy journey planner you can find the timetable of all trains on sncb.be/graspop or in the SNCB app. All info and conditions: sncb.be/graspop
Thalys – Eurostar
If you're travelling by Thalys or Eurostar, you should get off in Antwerpen-Centraal or Bruxelles-Midi. From there you can take the train to MOL station. Attention: The GMM train ticket is not valid on Thalys or Eurostar.
Free shuttle buses
During the festival free shuttle buses will whisk the metal hordes to and from the festival site from the bus stop at Mol station and from the Kiss & Ride zone in the marketplace of Dessel. Bus times will be posted at a later date.
Organised coach travel
EventTravel offers more than 100 pickup points in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Check here to find a pickup point near you and book your seat asap. Metal atmosphere guaranteed!
TIP Is your group of friends large enough? Then request your very own pickup point!
Are you organising your own coach?
Then be sure to notify firstname.lastname@example.org in advance. Your coach will be directed along a specific route to a separate coach parking area near the festival entrance.
Looking to avoid tailbacks en route to GMM? Then dust off your saddle and hop on your bicycle instead. Parking is free in our guarded bicycle parking lot near the main festival entrance. Convenient, ecological, healthy... and you get a cool free GMM gadget to boot! Attention: bicycles that are parked illegally will be taken to the bicycle parking lot.
If you’re coming by car or motorbike please remember to switch off your GPS system as soon as you come across the first sign marked FESTIVAL. Depending on the direction you’re coming from, you will be guided to the nearest and most accessible free GMM car park. Graspop Metal Meeting is easily accessible via the E34 and E313 motorways.
All GMM car parks are free and within walking distance of the festival site. There is no separate parking facility for motorbikes or scooters. Parking next to your tent at camping Boneyard is prohibited for both cars and motorbikes. If you leave your car by the side of the road you may be towed. Visitors are not allowed to spend the night in the car park. Camping is free at camping Boneyard. Motorhome owners can rent a pitch in Metal Town. One final tip: remove all valuables from your car.
Kiss & Ride
Avoid the festival tailbacks and arrange for a friend or taxi to drop you off or pick you up. Follow the Kiss & Ride signs to the Kiss & Ride zone in the marketplace of Dessel, where free shuttle buses are waiting to take you to and from the festival, 24/7. The festival’s official taxi rank is also situated in the marketplace of Dessel.
The Kiss & Ride zone at Mol station is a useful alternative. Here, too, you can board a free shuttle bus for the festival. Please note these buses are not available round the clock. Bus times will be posted at a later date.
