Corrosion of Conformity are your typical musical chameleons. Their early 80s debut ‘Eye for an Eye’ featured 20 hardcore and punk-oriented tracks but over the years they’ve gravitated towards a more bluesy heavy metal sound. Despite varying line-ups and changing music styles, C.O.C. have been able to build a loyal following through the years. In addition to touring in support of major acts including Megadeth and Metallica, C.O.C.’s own headlining tours have taken them to some of the world’s most famous stages. The band’s history is eventful to say the least, including two hiatuses and several members departing and then rejoining later on. While they achieved commercial success with ‘Deliverance’ (1994), follow-up ‘Wiseblood’ (1996) marked a time of declining fortunes, while the release of the critically acclaimed ‘In the Arms of God’ (2005) restored the band to its former glory. Pepper Keenan subsequently focused on Down but resumed lead vocals and rhythm guitar duties in 2014.
