Kublai Khan TX deal in metallic hardcore stripped of excess. Formed in Texas in 2009, they channel hardcore urgency through thick, groove-laden riffs that owe as much to death metal as to traditional punk roots. From their 2014 debut ‘Balancing Survival and Happiness’ right down to 2024’s ‘Exhibition of Prowess’, they have roamed the broad spectrum of hardcore subgenres. Their songs are short, direct and built around breakdowns engineered for maximum impact. Lyrically the band confront personal demons, racism and moral hypocrisy with blunt honesty. Over the years they have honed a reputation as a relentless live act, often touring with both hardcore staples and modern metal heavyweights, bridging scenes that do not always overlap.
