Back in 2003, Three Days Grace hit the ground running thanks to the success of their debut single ‘I Hate Everything About You’, which received plenty of airplay on radio stations across the globe. Pundits predicted a bright future for this Canadian alternative rock/metal band but while they have continued to be successful on the other side of the Atlantic, they are yet to break into the big leagues in Europe. Founding member and lead singer Adam Gontier suddenly quit in early 2013, with Brad Walst’s brother, My Darkest Days lead singer Matt Walst, stepping in as his replacement. Walst’s voice has a raw and grungy aspect to his voice and that has served them well on stage. The new line-up went on to record ‘Human’ (2015) and ‘Outsider’ (2018), the latter including ‘Infra-Red’, their 14th single to top the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Their most recent exploit is 2025’s ‘Alienation’, their first studio effort since vocalist Adam Gontier rejoined fold. Walst and Gontier’s vocal contributions are very complementary and the album as a whole will definitely please ‘One-X’ era fans. (#GMM26)
