The name Drowning Pool is carved deep into the annals of modern rock history. Named after the eponymous Paul Newman-starred movie, the band is synonymous with raw energy and an unapologetic attitude. Founded in 1996, their popularity soared in 2001 with the release of their single ‘Bodies’ off their debut album ‘Sinner’. In 2002, original singer Dave Williams died on tour of an undiagnosed heart disease. A replacement was recruited to allow the band to continue but he was soon superseded by Ryan McCombs (2005-2011), who rejoined in 2023. McCombs played a pivotal role in the band’s evolution and following the release of their first single with McCombs in 14 years, ‘Revolution (The Final Amen)’, followed by ‘Madness’ in April 2025, Drowning Pool started working on a new album to be released in the course of 2026. Last year’s gig at Forest National was amazing and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for our North Stage. (#GMM26)
