Formed in 1988, this Californian punk rock band has had an eventful history but they never faltered. When punk became fashionable again in the mid-90s they refused to join a major label. Their attitude and success has inspired punk bands worldwide yet these guys have never forgotten their humble beginnings. After a short hiatus, long-time singer and founding member Jim Lindberg returned to the fold. Their subsequent release ‘Never Gonna Die’ (2018) proved that their melodic hardcore formula had lost none of it bite: the short, fast, hook-laden tracks tackled political division, social injustice and personal resilience without losing that unmistakable California skate punk spirit. The title track in particular has become a live staple, a defiant singalong that fits seamlessly alongside classics like ‘Bro Hymn’. Over the past years they have continued to tour relentlessly across Europe and the US, remaining a firm favourite on festival bills. (#GMM26)
